Front Porch Films

Interviews and shorts:

Here, we’ve included several more detailed interviews with key people filmed over the last few years on our trips to the Southern States. Each presents a compelling story. Extracts from these interviews are included in our ‘USA Roadtrip 2020’ film or in our most recent offering from 2022, ‘A Portrait of Shane Douglas’. Apart from the music, it’s the people we meet along the way that make these trips fascinating!

Jack Moore

Front Porch Films met up with Jack Moore of the Baton Rouge Blues Society back in 2020 at the Bayou Tech Brewery, deep in the heart of Cajun / Creole country.

Jack has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Louisiana Blues Scene in general, from childhood to the present day. This interview focuses on Jack’s early life and encounters with Blues legends over the years including Muddy Waters, Slim Harpo and Moses ‘Whispering’ Smith.

Trevor Toms

Front Porch Films caught up with Trevor Toms in 2022 when he was on tour in Pigeon Forge TN. Trevor is an aspiring and ambitious musician from Colorado, currently finding his way on the Nashville music scene.

He’s already an accomplished songwriter in his own right but mainly plays the numerous venues in Downtown Nashville. It’s clearly a tough gig but he gave us an illuminating and honest insight into how it all works….

Stephen Knowles

Front Porch Films meet comedian Stephen Knowles in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to hear about various aspects of American culture including his Celtic heritage and his links to Bonnie & Clyde and Benny Hill.

This is Stephen’s story.
